ScoreSifter is free to use, with no account, no subscription, and no catch. These terms exist to be clear about what the software does and doesn't do.
Licence
ScoreSifter is free software. You may download, use, and keep it at no cost. You may not redistribute, repackage, or sell ScoreSifter or any modified version of it without written permission from Kairovo.
The built-in music catalogue is proprietary data compiled by Kairovo. It is provided for use within ScoreSifter only and may not be extracted or used separately.
What ScoreSifter does to your files
ScoreSifter renames PDF files on your computer and optionally writes metadata into those PDFs. It uses standard file system rename operations — it does not delete files, and renames can be undone from within the app while it remains open.
You are responsible for maintaining backups of your files. Kairovo recommends keeping a backup copy of your music library before running batch renames on a large folder for the first time.
Your files and content
ScoreSifter processes files that you provide. You represent that you have the right to rename and modify the files you process with ScoreSifter. Kairovo takes no responsibility for files processed without appropriate ownership or licence.
ScoreSifter does not upload, transmit, or store your files. All processing happens locally on your device.
Third-party services
ScoreSifter may query MusicBrainz to look up metadata for pieces not found in the built-in catalogue. This is an optional feature. MusicBrainz is an independent service operated by the MetaBrainz Foundation, not affiliated with Kairovo. Use of MusicBrainz data is subject to their own terms of service.
No warranty
ScoreSifter is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Kairovo makes no guarantees that:
- The app will work without errors or interruption
- Metadata lookups will return correct or complete results
- The app will be compatible with every PDF file or operating system version
- The app will remain available or be updated indefinitely
Use ScoreSifter at your own discretion. Review proposed renames before applying them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kairovo shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of ScoreSifter, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of files, or incorrect renaming of files.
Updates and changes
Kairovo may update ScoreSifter and these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after an update to these terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Material changes will be noted with a revised date on this page.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of ScoreSifter will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
